KNIGHTS TEMPLAR

Balwin II, King of Jerusalem
was the second count of Edessa from 1100 to 1118, and the third ruler of Jerusalem from 1118 until his death.
Baldwin was the son of Hugh I, Count of Rethel, and his wife Melisende, daughter of Guy I of Montlhéry
He went the First Crusade in 1096.
Upon the death of Baldwin I in 1118, the crown was offered to the king's elder brother Eustace III, but Joscelin of Courtenay insisted that the crown pass to Baldwin. Baldwin of Edessa accepted and was crowned king of Jerusalem as Baldwin II on Easter Sunday, 14 April 1118.
Almost immediately, the kingdom was simultaneously invaded by the Seljuks from Syriaand the Fatimids from Egypt, although by showing himself ready and willing to defend his territory, Baldwin forced the Muslim army to back down without a battle.
In 1119, the crusader Principality of Antioch was invaded, and Baldwin hurried north with the army of Jerusalem. Roger of Salerno, prince of Antioch, would not wait for Baldwin's reinforcements, and the Antiochene army was destroyed in a battle the crusaders came to call Ager Sanguinis (the Field of Blood). Although it was a crushing blow, Baldwin helped Antioch recover and drove out the Seljuks later that year.Around this time, the second of three military orders were created. In 1118, Hugues de Payens founded the Knights Templar in Jerusalem, while the Knights Hospitaller, which had been founded in 1113, evolved into a military order from the charitable order that they had originally been. Baldwin also called the Council of Nablus in 1120, where he probably established the first written laws for the kingdom, and extended rights and privileges to the growing bourgeois communities. King Baldwin allowed Hugues de Payens to set up quarters in a wing of the royal palace, the captured Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount. Because of where it was built, on the ruins of the older Temple, the Crusaders referred to this structure as the Temple of Solomon, and it was from this structure that they took their name of "Knights of the Temple", or Templar.
Seal of The Templars
FREEMASONs
ARE NOT TEMPLARs
The Freemasons, is a society that began with the founding of the Grand Lodge of England in 1717 centuries after the persecution, murder & driving out of the Knights Templar.
Freemasonry claims it was started by descendants of the Knights Templar.
This is untrue!
If you see below you can see that the bloodline of descendants finished with the death of childless Conradin.
''With Conradin's death in 1268
at 16 years old, the legitimate Hohenstaufen line became extinct. ''
The 2nd line of Templar was started by Hugh I King of Jerusalem, he was not blood related to the original Kings of Jerusalem or Knights Templar at all.
The Freemasons liked the idea of the Templar and therefore tried to create a 'new order'. But this order does not resemble the original in any way.
They are not ''The poor fellow soldiers of Christ'', for example!
Rather'' Theirs was a group formed in the 17th century which was interested in the promotion of religious and political tolerance in an age of great intolerance when differences of opinion on matters of religion and politics were to lead to bloody civil war. ''
Unfortunately today it has evolved into a 'secret society' or brotherhood that feeds suspicion and controversy.
However they are involved in 'good works' but they can believe in any god!
Whereas, ' the poor fellow soldiers of Christ' believed only in Christianity and sought to free the world of violent Islamic invasions.
BUT there is the possibly of descendants to the Templars through William Longespee the Earl of Salisbury and his mistress Countess Ida de Tosney of Norfolk and their son Sir William Longespee ( Jr)who was a Crusader Knight Templar. His descendants are in obscurity originally coming from Staffordshire, Salisbury,Wales & Ireland but they do exist!
Obviously, looking at our ancestors, our family is one of those old bloodlines.
My Knights Templar
Ancestors
Here is a list of Knights Templar
who were my ancestors from Geoffrey Plantagenet, Duke of The Normans, Count of Anjou.
Among whom were Kings of Jerusalem.
I am still researching on this topic....

Fulk V , Count of Anjou
Fulk was born at Angers, between 1089 and 1092, the son of Count Fulk IV of Anjou and Bertrade de Montfort
Crusade of 1119-1120
Faulk became attached to the Knights Templar (Orderic Vitalis). He returned, late in 1121, after which he began to subsidize the Templars, maintaining two knights in the Holy Land for a year.By 1127 Fulk was preparing to return to Anjou when he received an embassy from King Baldwin II of Jerusalem.
King of Jeruselem from 1131 to his death. During his reign, the kingdom of Jerusalem reached its largest territorial extent. Fulk abdicated his county seat of Anjou to his son Geoffrey and left for Jerusalem, where he married Melisende on 2 June 1129, the daughter of Baldwin II, King of Jerueselm.
Their son Baldwin III, to be King of Jeruselm was born in 1130.
Melisende, Queen of Jerusalem
Melisende (b.1105 – d.11 September 1161) was Queen of Jerusalem from 1131 to 1153, and regent for her son between 1153 and 1161 while he was on campaign.
She was the eldest daughter of King Baldwin II of Jerusalem, and the Armenian princess Morphia of Melitene.

It later passed to John de Cranford, who passed it to the Order of the Knights Templars.
When the Knights Templars were abolished the Manor and Parish were vested in the Crown until 1310, when it was passed to the Knights Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem.''

Baldwin III, King of Jerusalem
(b.1130 – d.10 February 1163)
He was king of Jerusalem from 1143 to 1163. He was the eldest son of Melisende and Fulk of Jerusalem. He became king while still a child, and was at first overshadowed by his mother Melisende, whom he eventually defeated in a civil war. During his reign Jerusalem became more closely allied with the Byzantine Empire, and the Second Crusade tried and failed to conquer Damascus.
